A City Cabriolet released as an official Honda model.
An already small car now in a small scale! Ban Presto released a couple of 1/87 scaled Honda Beats in a bag with carded hang tag. The details are sub-par compared to similarly scaled Herpa models of other Hondas. Probably no more than a $1 at retail, these are not easy to find outside Japan. On the secondary market, costs are relatively high because of shipping.
Tamiya released the S800 roadster in 1:20 scale in amazing detail – to the extent that the undercarriage does not have any Tamiya, scale or model name markings!
When the S2000 was first introduced, the Ebbro S2000 in 1/43 was one of the more detailed versions on the market. Subsequently, Ebbro also released the highly sought after Mugen versions.
The City by Inchiko is more a toy than a model but nevertheless and interesting collectable. Available in a driverless and a doll-driven version these are very rare outside of Japan. The ones with the girl figure in them have heads that rotate with the rear wheels. All of them are inertia motorized.
By far the best made and most detailed 1/43 Honda Beat out there. MakeUp is known for detailed, high quality models and their Beat is no exception.
Festival Red, Everglade Green Metallic, Carnival Yellow
Diapet’s 1:35 Beat weren’t very detailed by current standards – lacking in detail and exhibiting a some chassis bending. More of a toy company with diecast models, Diapets are somewhat hard to find outside Japan and can be quite the collectable.
They were available in 3 colors in Diapet’s standard white windowed box of the time.
