In 2003, AUTOart released the most detailed 1:18 S2000 on the market. Despite being one of the earlier detailed models made in China, the build quality was noticeable and consistent.
They were released with variations for the different markets – Euro, US and JDM including a more customized version with accessories for American Honda to sell as an accessory.
The US versions in black, white, silver and a special edition Honda OEM in silver with accessories. A Yellow version supplements the same basic colors for the Euro versions. In addition, the JDM versions come with the base 3 colors in RHD.
The 1st generation Civic Wagon was released by Tomica in 1974 in a couple of 5 door variations. Since then it’s appeared in a number of colors and livery designs. The earlier issues were made in Japan and the later ones mostly from China.
The 1st generation Civic was released by Tomica in 1974 in a couple of 3 door hatchback variations – GL and rally. Since then it’s appeared in many colors, tampo designs and even wheel designs. The earlier issues were made in Japan and the later ones mostly from China.
A rare Yatming rendition of the 1974 Civic GL 3 door hatchback. This car came mainly packaged as a Road Champs model in the Gas Saver series in the US.
The Honda Civic EG (1996-1999) in hatchback form. Maisto’s Civic EG Hatchback in approximately 1:55 scale came in red and in blue in various packaging. Carded versions are rare – especially the Road & Track version.
Summer Toys released the 1992 Civic Hatchback in approximately 1:54 scale in various colors. While these castings don’t have a lot of detail, they come in many variations of color and tampo designs and are rather rare in mint or near mint condition.
A carved wooden model of the NSX in 1:14. Front and rear logos painted on. Obtained from an artisan in France. Currently, aware of only 2 in existence – the other in the hands of a collector in Japan.
This rare model is casted in pewter and hand detailed by craftsmen in Malaysia. Made of 97% pewter, this Honda NSX weighs about 2 kg. It comes on a wooden base with an identifying plaque “NSX 97% pewter” and a glass cover. It has no bottom and is essentially hollow, though the pewter is about 5-10mm thick throughout. The proportions are accurate and the detail is good considering what it’s made of.
Obtained from a Honda dealer in Malaysia in 1995, my understanding is that this was a custom commission for the introduction of the NSX in Malaysia. This may be the rarest NSX collectible in existence.
AUTOart produced the 1/18 rendering of Honda’s Integra Type R (DC5), in 3 different colors – blue, black and Championship White from the Japanese Domestic Market. The model features opening hood, hatch and doors – with incredible detail at its price point when released in 2004.
AUTOart also released the DC5R in 1/43 and 1/64 with fewer operating features.
