Ebbro introduced many versions of the Fit family of cars in 1:43.
Here is highly sought after Mugen version in Silver and White. They differ from the regular Fits in terms of Mugen parts such as wheels with detailed inscription, front and rear bumpers/spoilers, side spoilers and a rear wing.
When the S2000 was first introduced, the Ebbro S2000 in 1/43 was one of the more detailed versions on the market. Subsequently, Ebbro also released the highly sought after Mugen versions.
Paul Model Art (Minichamps) released the 1:18 Jordan Mugen Honda 198 for the 1998 Formula 1 season. Various editions of the car were released – Test Car, Race version and Race version with Tower Wings.
Minichamps releasing a 1:43 model of the CRX was a bit of a surprise as they tend to focus on European makes. That said, the CRXs modelled were the euro spec ones rather than the US or JDM versions. Nevertheless, this model is very well done and on par with models from Ebbro, though are slightly short of the Sapi in terms of painted detail.
The earlier models, with silver boxes, seem to be open ended releases though production did stop at some point. The later ones came in black boxes, had aftermarket wheels and were limited edition.
Hot Wheel’s CRX in 1:18 scale comes various variations of color, design and modifications in a windowed box kit with parts to built a drag race version.
Maruka’s CRV have some interesting detail considering they are really a toy and semi-caricature in style. They come in various packaging and an assortment of wheel styles – though they tend to be consistent with a given packaging.
The City by Inchiko is more a toy than a model but nevertheless and interesting collectable. Available in a driverless and a doll-driven version these are very rare outside of Japan. The ones with the girl figure in them have heads that rotate with the rear wheels. All of them are inertia motorized.
Diapet’s 1:35 Beat weren’t very detailed by current standards – lacking in detail and exhibiting a some chassis bending. More of a toy company with diecast models, Diapets are somewhat hard to find outside Japan and can be quite the collectable.
They were available in 3 colors in Diapet’s standard white windowed box of the time.
In 2003, Autoart released the most detailed 1:18 S2000 on the market. They were released with variations for the different markets – Euro, US and JDM including a more customized version with accessories for American Honda to sell as an accessory.
