Possibly due to influence from Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, Honda’s founder Soichiro Honda attempted to compete with it’s Japanese competitors with an air-cooled model – the Honda 1300 and it’s coupe version, the Honda Coupe 9.

This short-lived model was the pre-cursor to the successful Honda Accord.
