in 2023, Hot Wheels released the 1973 Honda Civic 3-door but not in street/stock form.
They chose to render a customized version with fender flares, front foglamps and a rear wing. The rear wing is actually part of the rear window’s tinted plastic.

Green
Mainline – ’73 Honda Civic Custom | HW J-Imports 8/10 | 2023:117/250
In this New for 2023 release, the blue tinted windows extend to form the rear spoiler in the same tint. With the built-in play that the wheels have on the wheel axles, the wheels can actually look quite wide beyond the already flared fenders.
Orange
Mainline – ’73 Honda Civic Custom | HW J-Imports 8/10| 2023:117/250
Released at about the same time as the green one, ok – maybe a case later, the windows are tinted a bit darker in smoke. the details on the front grill and headlights are common between these first two new releases for the casting.
Teal No.73
Mainline – ’73 Honda Civic Custom | Compact Kings 4/5 | 2024:90/250
As though the HW designer had a paint/tampo budget, the detailed grill and headlights were traded for numers and graphics on the side of the car.
Yellow No.73
Mainline – ’73 Honda Civic Custom | Compact Kings 4/5 | 2024:90/250
With slightly different color-coordinated graphics, this yellow version of the 2024 mainline’s Compact King’s also has different wheels.
Metallic red
Premium – Car Culture Japan Historics 4
Later in 2024, the Car Culture Japan Historics 4 series included the ’73 Honda Civic Custom. in pearl dark red, the details in the front and the window trim/details are mainly what visually differentiates this from the mainline cars, aside from the Rear Rider tires and higher end wheels. One of the benefits on freeing the model from its card/blister, especially for the premium cars, is you get to feel the heft that’s added by the metal base plate.
