Tomica’s G3 Prelude did not have many variations. It was made in 1:59 scale with a black plastic base to typical Tomica detail for this scale of diecast. Released initially in 1988, the most recent release was about 18 years later.

As of February 2006, the Hondacurator Collection had the following 1988 Honda Prelude by Tomica:
Red – first release
A G3 Prelude in red was the first release with like-colored art on the box. The tan interior, more easily visible through opening doors, is unusual as the actual car never had that interior color. This Prelude was produced when tampo’d details were not common – as this model has none.
Yellow – trailer set exclusive
Exclusive included only with a trailer set, this made in Japan yellow Prelude has the rub strip detail that other releases don’t have.
Red – commemorative custom
This release was simply customized using the first release red model with no other variations.
White/black patrol car – Ito-Yokado exclusive
In September 2005, a Metropolitan Police Department patrol car with a black interior was released as an Ito-Yokado exclusive. This model was made in China unlike the other Japan-made ones prior.
Red – Tomica Premium
Tomica used the casting and included a lot more finishing detail than this 20 year old casting originally had. The upgrades include more realistic wheels, H logos front and rear, painted lights, rub strips and window trim..
