Before there was Ebbro there was Dinky, Dandy and Diapet – all making larger version of toy cars with roughly similar wheelbases. Here, we find the Honda Beat by Diapet.

One of the earliest models of the Beat in an almost 1:43 scale. Mainly built as a very detailed toy rather than a detailed collectible, the Diapets have great Nostalgia. While more contemporary models since the 90s are produced in enough quantity to ensure rarity is rare, they are nevertheless good collectibles – if not previously used as rough toys.
Packaged like most toys and other Diapet, the boxes are soft plastic windowed boxes containing a styrofoam block shaped to the car. The cars are often are wax-paper wrapped before being inserted in the Styrofoam. the back of the boxes have an outline blueprint of the car with key dimensions.

Diapets are somewhat hard to find outside Japan and can be quite the collectable.
They were available in 3 colors in Diapet’s standard white windowed box of the time.

Some close-ups – not bad for a toy. Diapet’s 1:35 Beat weren’t very detailed by current standards – lacking in detail and exhibiting some chassis bending. More of a toy company with diecast models,
